A Note To Ex-Lover 1

Dear Ex,

Whenever I hear “Just When I Thought I Was Over You”, I think of you. Even if we broke up 4 years ago and here you are, about to marry in two weeks and a kid on the way.

I want to leave you here in 2010 and I don’t want to bring all my sad thoughts of you and what could’ve been in 2011. I just want to finally get over you within the last few hours of 2010.

I just want you to know, so far, you are my greatest love. Sometimes I do think and tell myself that we wouldn’t have worked out anyway. But we wouldn’t know now, would we? But we broke up for a reason, although I can’t remember what. I just know it was a combination of our mistakes and miscommunication on both sides. But sometimes I think it was mostly because of me.

You are such a great guy. I sometimes lie awake at night wondering if I’ll ever meet someone who will love me like you did and treat me like you did. You treated me like your queen. And I know you’re giving the same treatment, if not more, to your fiancee.

I don’t know if we will ever be friends like we were before we even thought of becoming a couple. So far, whenever we get together with our friends, I am not really comfortable and I’m reminded that it would’ve been easier to have stayed together and how comfortable it was. And to be honest, I’m not really looking forward to that get together we talked about having recently. I don’t think I want to spend any more time with you. Spending time with you just brings back memories of what was and things that could’ve been.

I will forever cherish the time we spent together and you will always be my yardstick, until Mr. Perfect-for-me comes along.

Wish me luck as I wish you much happiness in the future with your future wife and child.

Sincerely,

Good Luck Me

From “Good Luck Chuck”.

I am the female version of it. 2 out of 5 boyfriends married the girlfriends they had after me. Another one is planning his wedding soon – to his girlfriend after we broke up. And that makes it 3 out 5.

This might be good news to Most Recent Ex. It simply means he might be able to find someone in Dubai who can make him truly happy and be able to love him because of what he can and cannot be. And if that happens, he will be the fourth.

Yes, I’m feeling a little loser-ish. I convince myself that the reason why I haven’t stayed with any of these 5 guys is because they weren’t for me. Or maybe they were but we just couldn’t make it work due to immaturity from both sides. Of course, I can’t convince myself all the time. Sometimes, I concede that it may be wholly my fault and sometimes I think it’s wholly their fault.

But the good news for me is that I will totally get a hot husband (as in male version of Cam played by Jessica Alba in the movie) in the future. This future hot husband will totally kick all ex-boyfriends’ ass when it comes to looks and smarts and humor and loyalty and commitment to moi.

Lord, please haste the day I meet this totally hot future husband so I get to be with him soon.

To future husband: just so you know, we’re totally getting a maid because I know nil about house chores except for cooking rice in the kaldero and washing dishes. And unless you want unclean and unironed clothes, to eat carbonara and paksiw na lechon and/or take out everyday of your life with me, you will totally think that it’s a great idea to have a maid. :) Plus, think of all the fun things better done than chores. LOL.

Gone Too Soon

Before the past weekend, I’ve never heard of the name Melody Gersbach. Come Sunday morning, August 22, I learn her name and the tragedy that befell her. I felt that she was gone too soon, dead at 23. She was young and beautiful and seemed like a nice and sweet girl. But, like any other person, having not particularly known this person, I really didn’t care much. I felt sad for her surviving family and friends. I know the feeling of having lost someone to death. I can only imagine the pain they must be feeling. But still, I really didn’t care that much.

Turns out, I should. And I do now. By Sunday night, I learn that she was the girlfriend of my cousin, Toti Rocha. So now, I actually feel sad about her death and empathize greatly with my cousin.

So, Toti, this video is for you. I know it will be hard to move on and it will definitely take time but you should move on. I’m sure Melody would want you to live your life to the fullest.

We Are What We Eat and What We Do is Yoga

You are what you eat”. This is an age old adage that I was never able to fully get. I’d always rationalize like this: “If I ate only vegetables, would that mean I’m a vegetable?” Or “If I ate meat only, would that also mean that I’m a piece of meat?”

And so I looked for something that would make sense for me. What I found is an article by Giuliana Rancic entitled “He Is What He Eats”. Let me share bits and pieces for you here.

The guy who sends everything back because it’s too cold, too hot, too overdone, etc:  This guy is a perfectionist and commitment phobe.  He’ll find some reason not to settle down with you – you should move on to a different table.

The guy who suggests splitting an appetizer and then asks you to pick it:  This is a good guy – sweet, thoughtful and wants you to be happy.  Just be careful of any sneaky ex-girlfriends in the picture because someone has clearly trained him well.

The guy who suggests splitting an appetizer and orders some delicious fried calamari…after you told him you were a vegetarian:  Let’s face it, guys aren’t always the best listeners but this is a bit of a red flag.  First dates are all about first impressions and this guy just seems selfish.

The guy who finishes one type of food before he moves on to the next type.  For example, he’ll eat all his broccoli, then all his potatoes then his fish:  This is a guy who is OCD orderly – if you move in with him you better have your own bathroom.

The guy who talks with his mouth full:  Okay, this may surprise you, but there are worse traits and I think this guy may be a good catch.  He wants to hurry on with his life, multi-task, and has great enthusiasm. Just have him eat behind a sneeze guard.

The guy who wants to try everything you’ve ordered:  Okay, this is a guy who is open to new things and values your opinion.  However, if he ends up eating all your food you may want to send him back.

The guy who orders everything grilled with the sauce on the side:  He’s health conscious, metro, kinda’ sensitive and a little vain.  In other words – he’s Ryan.

The guy who eats food with just one color – all white, all brown – you get it:  Okay, I would forget him.  He’s probably a little crazy and if you hook up with him he may insist that everything in your house be one color (including your hair).

The guy who insists on ordering everything for you:  He’s probably too domineering and very traditional.  Unless you really like dating much older men (like say 99), I think you should skip him and order what you want.

The guy who after every meal says he’s had it better someplace else:  Skip him before he says he had a better girlfriend someplace else.

The guy who wants you to order for him:  Mommy issues – stay away from him, especially if he asks you to cut his meat.

I haven’t dated every type but I remember dating  Type 2. Too bad we didn’t last.

To add something of my own:

  • The guy who can’t make up his FN mind about where to eat and what type of food to get. This guy is either indecisive or too eager to please or just doesn’t care. I say ditch him and go eat wherever you want. :)

In other boring news, I’m currently practicing yoga under Tara Stiles via Youtube. I’m also considering practicing Namaste Yoga via Channel 15 aka Discovery Home and Health Channel. I need to drop like maybe 50 pounds soon. Doing the night shift made me fat. Yes, I have cup C breasts (TMI much?) but I also have an expanded waistline that goes along with that. Slimming down will get me cup A breasts and a miniature waistline. Kind of like how I started before going on the night shift. As in like how I was when I just came home from the States.

Yoga Tara Stiles style is hard! Namaste yoga is better, I think.

Wish me luck! Oh, and here’s some videos of yoga. Who knows, it might inspire some people out there.

Things Fall Apart

In relationships, it is sometimes inevitable that things fall apart. Sometimes, it is hard to let and go and get over a person, but you have to, in the hopes of being able to earn or get someone better suited for you.

When things fall apart, you can’t always cover it up with “I love yous”. You can’t just ignore issues and hope that things work out by themselves. Sometimes, that does work out but what happens if it doesn’t? Things just pile up and one or both of you end up being bitter.

Anyway, I found this webcomic that I could actually relate to. It wasn’t amusing to me and I didn’t get that “haha funny” kind of vibe. What I got was “Hey, I could relate to that” because I could. It was as if someone took a picture of a moment in my former relationship and made it into a comic. Anyway, here it is.

Oh, and as bonus, here’s a video of Eminem featuring Rihanna with “I Love The Way You Lie”. I was a little surprised to see Megan Fox in this video.

Zac Efron: A Fan-girl post

I’m a BIG BIG BIG fan of Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens since High School Musical came out. I try to see all the movies they were in. Geeky, I know. But I’m such a big fan and I love them both and they’re both funny and cute, individually and as a couple.

And yes, I will admit that Vanessa being part Filipino makes amps up my liking for them.

So, here are a couple of videos from Zac Efron’s guest spot on Lopez Tonight. Thank you to Charls for posting this on his Tumblr.

And please…you have been forewarned. This is a fan-girl entry. So forgive my video overkill. (“,)

Here’s part 2 that I found on Youtube.

And a cute video of Zac Efron with Vanessa Hudgens being cute and sweet together.

Choosing Love

why_do_you_love_me

First of all, let me warn you that this will be a sentimental post. So if you want to avoid the cheesiness of it all, move on to the next blog and thanks for visiting.

Okay...

So at one point or another, we've felt that sometimes love (or our hearts) did not give us a choice on who to love. The catch is love does give us a choice. But we don't see it often as most of us often have rose-colored glasses while in love.

The reality is, by the time that we feel that we wish that love (or our hearts) that had given us a choice is the time when things have fallen apart.

Or when our exes start to become too creepy for comfort or become too much of a stalker while trying to get over the heartbreak, this is definitely the moment that you think "I wish it had..."

The Games That We Play

As they say, “Hate the game, not the player”. But don’t you just hate it when you’re on the receiving end of mind games?

I wish we don’t have to play games when it comes to dating. You’re probably saying “Yeah, right!” for different sorts of reasons. I must admit, sometimes mind games are fun, when you’re winning. But if you’re on the losing end, it’s no fun at all.

Here’s a comic about it. Enjoy! Thanks to Doghouse Diaries for the web comic.
