Review: TV: Pretty Little Liars

So I’ve been pretty busy at work and I’ve been having a hard time with my downloads and streaming so that I have no choice but to stick to cable and free TV. I stumbled onto “Pretty Little Liars” over at the ETC channel. I got a little intrigued and was able to stream Episodes 2 and 3.

And so I think “Pretty Little Liars” is like “Desperate Housewives” for high school people. And I’m thinking it might be trying to be “Twin Peaks” of this generation.

Anyway, so far I’m a little bored. Storyline is pretty formulaic. But I’m still giving it a chance. It might grow on me like “Hellcats” did.

That’s it!

The Best Hair Fall Control Shampoo For Me

First of all, let me say that this isn’t a sponsored post. I would only be so lucky to get asked to do one since this blog only has an average of about 15 unique visitors daily. Give or take a few.

So I’m taking a bath right? I look down and I noticed that there is no single strand of hair stuck on the drain. And I realize it’s been like that for weeks now. It is because of Pantene.

My mom has always been on my case about my hairfall. TMI? But it’s true though. We’ve gotten into little spats about it. I’ve said that it’s no cause for worry since I was always stressed out with my old job. And probably with other people as well. Hehe..

I’ve tried the hair fall control shampoos of Sunsilk and Palmolive, I think. Sunsilk was great but wasn’t really effective. My experience with Palmolive must’ve been either too little or just plain forgettable.

Just wanted to share this before going to work, even if it meant getting late.

TV Episode Catch Up

Okay.. let’s see…

Gossip Girl’s “Juliet Doesn’t Live Here Anymore” was a great friendship episode. Made viewers realize that it was and it still is all about the fearsome and awesome foursome of the Upper East Side – Serena, Blair, Chuck and Nate. The epic take down of Juliet was a great, great scene. And the haters will always try but won’t succeed. I’m really looking forward to seeing what Little J, Vanessa and Juliet will cook up in order to try and take down the awesome foursome of the Upper East Side.

And btw, Vanessa Abrams needs to GTFO if she’s also hell-bent on destroying Serena. I don’t get why she would want to do it. It was Dan who screwed with her. She should be taking down Dan. Oh well, she IS a hater and I guess it was inevitable to see her cook up something against Serena and Blair.

For Hellcats… Marti and Dan should stop with the longing looks and just either get together or move on. Personally, I’d like to see Dan with Savannah. He brings out her wild side and she tames him a bit. Good combo, if you ask me.

Glee left me bored with their “Rocky Horror” episode but left me astounded with their “Never Been Kissed” episode. I gasped twice. First was when Kurt was kissed. Second was when Mr. Schuester kissed Shannon Beiste. Darren Criss performing “Teenage Dream” was great. And I just learned that Darren is half-Filipino and half-Irish. Pretty cool.

The Vampire Diaries had two great consecutive episodes with “Rose” and “Katerina”. We finally saw Katherine’s past and found out that she had a child prior to becoming a vampire. We finally saw how she was turned: she had Rose’s blood in her system and then she killed herself. When she woke up, she and Rose got into a tussle and Katherine got to feed on an elderly woman.

In “Katerina”, we find out that Elijah is able to compel other vampires. I wonder how that’s possible.

I know I haven’t been able to do much blogging lately. It’s because I work now and I barely have time to blog because I still have to stream the episodes I wanted to blog about. Further explanation at a later time.

Hugs.

Music Monday: Sleeperstar: I Was Wrong

I saw “Rose” a day after it aired in the US and was instantly in love with the song playing in the background during a heartbreaking Damon and Elena moment. I decided to search for the song and a fellow blogger provided me with the song details.

The song is entitled “I Was Wrong” by Sleeperstar.

I hope you guys enjoy the song as much as I did.

And here’s the heartbreaking scene:

On Juliet Sharp and Michael Weston

Burn Notice is one of the non-high school TV shows I watch. I just love how Michael Weston, Fiona and Sam help out people with their spy-savvy techniques.

They’re so FN cool.

Michael is the ex-spy who desperately wants his job back.

Fiona is the explosives expert.

Sam is the all-around guy.

All three are experts in surveillance.

Anyway, I really would love it if Michael, Fiona and Sam could help me out right now. But seeing that they’re fictional characters, I’d settle for one of their counterparts.

In other things…

I think Juliet Sharp and Ben may have been related to Pete, the guy who overdosed while with Serena and Georgina. I mean why else would anyone want to take revenge on the “powerful people” of the Upper East Side, right?

I still can’t move on from that last scene in “War of the Roses”. Chuck and Blair together again. I have a feeling they’ll still undergo a challenge before being able to really get back together again. For now, I think they’re being friends with benefits.

The Week In Review

So, let’s see…

November 1 – I went to work while people who work in non-BPO environments were on holiday leave. Work was okay. I wasn’t bored.

November 2 – I still went to work and was almost late. Nothing exciting here. Tried to download/stream the latest episode of Gossip Girl but couldn’t.

November 3 – Experienced overtime at the office. Worked 4 more hours than usual. Tried to go home before 9 PM so I could catch Glee. Found out that there was no new episode of Glee. Tried to stream Gossip Girl’s “War of the Roses” again.

November 4 – Had lunch with Charls. Claimed my DKNY giveaway from Nuffnang. Spent time with my good friend Rolls. Had a great time catching up. Watched “War of the Roses”. That whole peace treaty thing with Blair and Chuck? So great. Serena falling into old patterns, what else is new? And then the ending scene with Chuck and Blair making out? Epic. Then downloaded Hellcats’ “Back of A Car”. The whole Marti losing her virginity to Dan and Savannah finding out about it the night she decides to give up her virginity to Dan is major friend drama. The kind of drama I’ve been waiting for the show to produce since it came out.

November 5 – Went to work. Went to Glorietta for my NBI clearance renewal. Thankfully, I was done in a few minutes. Grabbed some take-out from Wendy’s. Hailed a cab to go back to work. Chatted with Charls. Talked to my boss Helen about Charls. And then, we had a freakin’ fire drill. We had to go down using the stairs ALL THE WAY from the 24th floor! Then we had to “wait out” the fire by more than an hour so I to extend an hour more at work just to compensate for the hour missed. Not that my boss required it of me. There were just some reports that needed to be done by Monday. Downloaded The Vampire Diaries’ “Rose”. Great, great episode. And there were two sweet Elena and Damon moments. Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m a big Stefan-Elena fan. But the moment Damon said “I love you” to Elena…I don’t know. I wish they’d get together for at least a season and then Elena goes back to Stefan. :)

And that’s how my week went. Oh, and somewhere along the week, I found out that Blake Lively and Penn Badgley broke up after three years of dating. Apparently, it’s because Penn wasn’t ready to put a ring on it.
