Leaving

I’m feeling a little sentimental this week because in a week’s time, I will be officially jobless. After three years of service, I am officially saying goodbye to a place I called home (for the first two years).

I’ve become unhappy during my last year. In fact, I’ve become so unhappy that I’ve sometimes caught myself wishing that I would just get into an accident so that I could miss work for a couple of days.

Details of my unhappiness don’t need to get unraveled here on the world wide web. At first, I was undecided about leaving my job, my friends. They are, or were, my comfort zone. I also got tired of the night shift. I wanted a day or afternoon shift but unfortunately, I can’t get it at my current job.

I’ve been to one interview so far. I have another one coming this Thursday night.

I just hope I don’t stay jobless for too long! :)

Wish me luck!

Leonardo di Caprio: HOT

I saw this picture of Leonardo di Caprio on the internet. He’s so hot in this picture.

leo

Btw, he’s coming to the Philippines by 2011. I have to be where he will be. :)

My Thoughts On Inception

This may be a spoiler for some and uninteresting to others. But I just want to put my thoughts on this movie out there.

Inception. Taking it just as it is, the whole thing was a dream. I think it may have been dreamed by Cobbs. Regardless of whoever dreamed it, it is still a dream.

But here’s a site that may be able to help with the whole metaphorical meaning. It’s my favorite so far. And I’ve been really good at staying away from review sites while I haven’t seen the film. Now that I have, I found this great site that lead me to it.

Here’s a chart I found online. Of course, it may or may not be accurate.

inception

And by the way, I love Ariadne’s name in this movie. The first time I heard it, I thought that’s real clever: using Arachne’s name and turning it to Ariadne the architect (versus Arcache the weaver…as in the dream weaver). But I got my mythology wrong. Ariadne was the one who helped Theseus get out of the labyrinth (I don’t know how to relate Ariadne to the character in Inception because I don’t know if movie Ariadne was able to help movie Theseus get out of the labyrinth like how mythical Ariadne helped mythical Theseus).

Another Poke At Twilight

I’m currently rereading Twilight: Breaking Dawn.

In all honesty, I find it quite an enjoyable read but a little poorly written. I just think that the author could’ve given a little more substance to the story and some of the characters. It’s a long book already anyway, why not add a few more just to be able to elaborate a little more?

Anyway, truth be told, Twilight is a guilty pleasure. I like it but I feel that parts of it were poorly written but I still like it.

Here’s another comic spoof found in the internet.

I hope you find it amusing as much as I do.

What I Miss About the United States

If there’s one thing I absolutely miss about being in the United States, it’s the food.

I’ve always felt guilty for not having the “American dream”. Meaning, I absolutely don’t have the desire to live in the US. Sure, it’s nice and cold here compared to the hot and humid weather here but I would prefer to be living here with all the luxuries I can afford by myself than live there and work like a horse in order to afford the luxuries I have here.

Anyway, I love IN N OUT burgers and animal style fries. And if there’s one thing I want to be brought here in the Philippines, it’s IN N OUT. If I had enough money, I would be working towards a franchise here so that a lot of the food lovers here can experience the amazing taste of their burgers.

Basyang

Basyang, the local name for the tropical storm Conson, unleashed her fury last Tuesday night, local time.

Mom was paranoid that it might be another Ondoy but I wasn’t as worried. Basyang was mostly wind instead of rain, resulting to branches of a Kamias tree being strewn all over my mom’s car and a two-day black out in our area. Some areas had electricity by last night. Some are still waiting for there electricity to come back.

I’m thankful that our electricity came back on by around 12:30 NN. Yesssssss! Thank you Lord! Hello Internet, I missed you. Hello Facebook! Hello Tumblr. Hello Blogger. Hi YouTube. Hi Yahoo! News. Hi Aircon and TV. Will say hello to the heater later on tonight.

Makes me wonder how people get by without electricity in the old days. You may take away the internet and TV away from me. My books will ease my boredom. But please, give me my water heater. And electric fan if the aircon is too much. :)

Choosing Love

why_do_you_love_me

First of all, let me warn you that this will be a sentimental post. So if you want to avoid the cheesiness of it all, move on to the next blog and thanks for visiting.

Okay...

So at one point or another, we've felt that sometimes love (or our hearts) did not give us a choice on who to love. The catch is love does give us a choice. But we don't see it often as most of us often have rose-colored glasses while in love.

The reality is, by the time that we feel that we wish that love (or our hearts) that had given us a choice is the time when things have fallen apart.

Or when our exes start to become too creepy for comfort or become too much of a stalker while trying to get over the heartbreak, this is definitely the moment that you think "I wish it had..."

Max’s Chicken All You Can Promo

Having heard so much about that Max’s Chicken All You Can Promo, my friends and I decided to try it out last night, July 11,2010 at Max’s – SM Bicutan Branch.

Rolls, her boyfriend Mark, and I met up a little after 6 PM. Rolls and Mark got there before I did and had reserved seats for us. We were 6th in the waitlist. After 15 minutes, I gave the waiter our order for the advanced order and then waited another 15 – 20 minutes to be seated.

We were all pretty excited. I was just psyched to be there with Rolls and Mark. Rhia wasn’t replying to my texts so we had to go on without her (but we missed you very much. :) ). I said I won’t get rice. Rolls said she would. Half lang daw muna. Then when it was time to give our advanced orders, she went for one whole rice.

Mark was getting a little grumpy and I was a little concerned because I wasn’t really hungry. But man, the anticipation of it was enough to get me really excited.

And so by the time our food arrived, Rolls and I were eating pretty slowly while Mark wolfed down his food. That turned out to be a better idea. I was personally taking my time so I wouldn’t feel full right away and that turned out to be a bad idea. I even ordered hot tea just so I could digest the food quickly and be able to eat more chicken to be able to get my money’s worth. That didn’t work either. After 1 cup of tea and 3 cups of hot water, I was still feeling full.IMG_0049

In the end, I think it was only Mark who was able to get his money’s worth, having eaten 5 pieces of quarter chicken. Rolls and I are tied at 2 pieces of quarter chicken each.

Overall fun experience.

But we did notice that the chicken wasn’t as tasty as it would’ve been normally. Mark mentioned that it might be because they had to cook a lot of chicken in such a short amount of time therefore sacrificing quality for quantity.

The three of us definitely won’t be going back to Max’s anytime soon. I personally won’t be eating chicken anytime soon.

Adventure Day

I saw this picture from Lunchbox Hero’s tumblr site.

I’d like to have an adventure one day with a good friend, male or female, I really don’t care. The adventure is to go to all the places indicated on the sign and take a picture. I think it can be done in one day. I want to do this within the year.

Any one wanna come with? I think Carriedo Station would be the most interesting stop. And I think Office of the Ombudsman would be more accessible via MRT. Makes me think how old this picture is.

The Games That We Play

As they say, “Hate the game, not the player”. But don’t you just hate it when you’re on the receiving end of mind games?

I wish we don’t have to play games when it comes to dating. You’re probably saying “Yeah, right!” for different sorts of reasons. I must admit, sometimes mind games are fun, when you’re winning. But if you’re on the losing end, it’s no fun at all.

Here’s a comic about it. Enjoy! Thanks to Doghouse Diaries for the web comic.

Paul the Octopus

It’s cool. But at the same time, who cares??

paul the octopus

I read on Yahoo! News that plenty of Germans are unhappy about Paul’s choice and wants to have Paul on a dinner plate. Funny and annoying thought at the same time.

Maroon 5 – Nothing Lasts Forever

This video means a lot to me at the moment.

It is so easy to see
Dysfunction between you and me
We must free up these tired souls
Before the sadness gets us both
I tried and tried to let you know
I love you but I’m letting go
It may not last but I don’t know
Just don’t know
If you don’t know
Then you can’t care
And I show up
But you’re not there
But I’m waiting
And you want to
Still afraid that I will desert you
Everyday
With every word whispered we get more far away
The distance between us makes it so hard to stay
But nothing last forever, but be honest babe
It hurts but it may be the only way
A bed that’s warm with memories
Can heal us temporarily
The misbehaving only makes
The ditch between us so damn deep
Built a wall around my heart
Never let it fall apart
Strangely I wish secretly
It won’t fall down while I’m asleep
If you don’t know
Then you can’t care
And I show up
But you’re not there
But I’m waiting
And you want to
Still afraid that I will desert you, babe
Everyday
With every word whispered we get more far away
The distance between us makes it so hard to stay
But nothing last forever, but be honest babe
It hurts but it may be the only way
But we have not hit the ground
Doesn’t mean we’re not still falling, oh..
I want so bad to pick you up
But you’re still too reluctant to accept my help
What a shame I hope you find somewhere to place the blame
But until then the fact remains
Everyday
With every word whispered we get more far away
The distance between us makes it so hard to stay
Nothing last forever, but be honest babe
It hurts but it may be the only way
Everyday
With every word whispered we get more far away
The distance between us makes it so hard to stay
Nothing last forever, but be honest babe
It hurts but it may be the only way

Catching the Twilight Fever

I’m not much of a Twilight Saga fan. They’re ok. The books and movies have dragging moments. I find the whole thing to be dramatic and romantic. It could use a little humor though.

twilight

Some of you might find it gross. But it’s a little funny, admit it. :-)

Of Bubbles and Plastic Balloons

When I was a kid, I loved balloons.

I loved making balloons from bubble gums. Bazooka made the best bubble gums.

bazooka

I remember I was four when I started to learn how to blow bubbles from balloons. This is not without accidents like having gum in my long hair and having too much fun with the balloon blowing that the balloon gets big enough and explodes in my face.

Then, my mom and/or my friends and I used to make bubbles from gumamela flowers. Looking back, that was a really cool Science thing to do. Who would’ve thought flowers, mixed with a few other ingredients, were capable of producing bubbles?

gumamela

And of course, when we couldn’t find Gumamela flowers, we’d often resort to the good old Plastic Balloon! PHP 1.00 only! Masakit sa panga pero sobrang saya (Cheek-hurting fun). I wonder where we can still get it?

tumblr_kz7f50U7gR1qalwp4o1_400

If I remember clearly, you put a little of the gum (plastic balloon inside the small tin container that’s shaped like a tube for toothpaste) on the little stick that comes with it. Then you roll the stick around your mouth to get it a little wet. I remember that it didn’t taste good but it wasn’t so bad. After getting the gum wet, you blow on the other side of the stick until the balloon blows up to the desired shape and size. A trick I learned is if your balloon pops too quickly while you’re blowing on the stick is the gum is either not wet enough or there’s not enough gum on the stick.

Someone please tell me where to get the plastic balloon as illustrated above. I wanna get in touch with my inner kid again! :-)

Reviving This Blog

I want to revive this dying blog.

From now on, this blog will not be limited to reviews. This blog will reflect MOST choices I make in my everyday life when it comes to music, video, celebrities, TV Series, gadgets.

I promise to update this blog EVERY SINGLE EFFIN’ DAY for at least one year.

And if I fail to keep my promise…well, you can’t do anything about it. I was busy. Get over it. :)
