Loving the new episode of Glee entitled “Britney/Brittany”. Here’s an episode that showcases the talents of the Glee cast, but mostly those of Heather Morris.
This episode certainly gave Heather Morris/Brittany S. Pierce the spotlight. She was funnier than ever! I noticed Naya/Santana got more lines too.
I loved the fact that Britney played herself and did not appear as a substitute teacher or a nanny or whatever.
There were great Rachel and Finn moments too. My favorite was when Finn walked away from Santana and Brittany to hold hands with Rachel.
And we discover that Rachel can be a conniving bitch. She asked Quinn to check if Finn wanted to get back with Quinn. I’m not sure if Quinn was pretending to be sad that Finn chose Rachel over her. But I kinda got the feeling that though she was a bit sad, she really didn’t care. I thought it was out of Quinn’s character given her sharp resolve in not choosing anyone from Finn and Puck. But that was way nice of her to do that for Rachel.
So far, I think Harry’s the only one left to showcase his talent in a big way. Oh wait, no. We haven’t had a Santana episode yet. And I think “Grilled Cheesus” is gonna be Kurt-centric. So I really look forward to some episodes that’ll be Mike-centric and Santana-centric. Would love to get to know more of the cast and see what they can really do.
Oh, btw, a little bird told me that Charice Pempengco aka Sunshine Corazon will be back for the fourth episode. How true? I don’t know how reliable this bird this. We’ll know soon enough.
And here’s the preview for Glee Season 2 Episode 3 entitled “Grilled Cheesus”. I think this one is gonna be a tear-jerker.
Blair and Serena were genius in this one!
Hmm…So let’s see if I remember the episode correctly. I think I just remember all the Blair and Serena parts because I dislike the Chuck-Eva and Dan-Vanessa parts. Call me biased, but here we go (oh, and these might not be in chronological order, sorry):
Points to ponder:
I’m loving Gossip Girl with every episode. What did you guys think?
Btw, here’s the next episode preview:
Before starting this blog, I’ve already watched The Tudors Seasons 1 – 3. Sexy, sometimes funny, always intriguing and fascinating. I’ve become interested enough and read enough articles about the Tudors. Since the show “The Tudors” is TV drama, some liberties have been taken and some parts are historically inaccurate. Some parts are historically accurate and I think that’s what’s keeping me watching.
I’m done watching the first two episodes of Season 4. Here’s where Katherine Howard is Queen and the fifth wife of Henry. I find her to be fun-loving, immature, lacking of poise and grace befitting a queen. She is immature and is most hated by Lady Mary, Henry’s daughter from his first wife, Queen Catherine of Aragon.
I’m excited to see how the story plays out. So far, my favorite queens are:
And I’m beginning to share Lady Mary’s sentiments about Queen Katherine. I’m becoming annoyed and I wonder what did Henry see in this immature woman?
Anyway, “The Tudors” is a must-see TV series for anyone who is interested in historical drama, like me. :)
Sometimes I wish they’d continue on to tackle the drama and the issues during Queen Mary’s time and the time during Queen Elizabeth I. I think that would be interesting since they’re still part of the Tudors. But I guess it’s not as intriguing as the life of Henry VIII and his six wives.
A year ago, I saw something interesting about how to remember the six wives of Henry and their respective fates. I don’t remember exactly how it goes but I think it was like:
Divorced – Beheaded – Died – Divorced – Beheaded – Survived.
Queen Katherine of Aragon was divorced by King Henry.
Queen Anne was beheaded because King Henry accused her of witchcraft.
Queen Jane died from childbirth. Henry claimed to love her the most and viewed her to be his true queen for being the only queen to give him a son.
Queen Anne of Cleves was criticized by King Henry for looking like a horse but loved her as his sister. He divorced her to marry Katherine Howard.
Queen Katherine had an affair and was beheaded.
Queen Catherine Parr nursed King Henry and was the only queen to survive him.
Interesting, isn’t it?
Since this post is way too late and some readers here are done with Season 2 Episode 3 of The Vampire Diaries, let me just point out the highlights of this episode. The following may be spoilers for some who haven’t been able to watch yet.
You and Katherine have a lot in common more than just your looks.
The episode ends the next morning when Katherine shows up in Caroline’s bedroom and tells Caroline not to be frightened because they’ll be having so much fun together.
Questions that I hope to be answered soon:
Here’s a clip of the next episode:
I’m loving Bruno Mars lately but I certainly didn’t like the reason he got arrested a couple of days ago. I think it had something to do with drugs or alcohol.
Anyway, he does great music.
The beginning of his video of “Just The Way You Are” reminded me of the Ukrainian Sand Artist act.
The girl in the video is Nathalie Kelley. She was in “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” movie too.
So anyway, hope you enjoy the music and the video!
My favorite dog has gone missing. We think she’s been stolen since the bitch is too damn nice.
After eating, we usually let her and her mom go out to do their business. The mom, M, is more aggressive and we keep her on a leash. My favorite dog, B, is nicer and usually steers clear of strangers. She’s very sweet. And I miss her already.
I was supposed to do a The Vampire Diaries post but I’m just too bummed out. B turned 9 this year. I just wish she would come home.
Please come home B. I miss you already.
UPDATE:
She was found by one of the roving guards here in our village, 10 blocks from where we live. The theory is that someone lured her because she’s pretty, hoping she’d get pregnant by a male dog. That’s the theory because B never steps onto the edge of our street and onto the main street without me or my dad. And if she would be running, it would be going toward further into the street and into the dead end and not outside of our street.
Good thing that the guard still rang our bell even if it was already 1 am. Poor thing looked nervous running around. Since she’s old, her senses may be a little weak and couldn’t recognize me and my dad when we were calling her. Finally, she let my dad put a leash on her and we were on our way home. You could tell she was really happy about seeing us and going home. Her pace went faster as we turned to our street. She almost ran going home. It was pretty sweet and amusing.
But to the person who attempted to steal my dog, I wish you’d have bad luck as a pet owner, always, or until you regret what you did.
Finally! Some drama and intrigue into this initially boring show.
I won’t go into details much but here are some of the highlights:
I just hope that the show will improve over the next few months. I’m really rooting for Ashley Tisdale here. I’ve loved her as Sharpay Evans in the High School Musical series. Sharpay and Savannah are so different from one another, though they do have one thing in common: they both have the passion to win. Only I don’t think Savannah is willing to play dirty unlike Sharpay.
Sometimes, I forget and I almost expect Savannah to snap her fingers and be cocky. But Savannah’s character is really nice. And seeing Ashley play a nice girl role is very refreshing to me and I like it.
Here’s the promo for Episode 4:
So I had to watch Glee three times before I’m able to write a full recap and summary. The first time, I watched it by myself and tweeting about it. Watched it with my parents for the second time and then taking notes the third time.
A lot of people of have been waiting for Glee’s Season 2 Episode 1, entitled “Auditions”. Here’s where Glee introduces three new characters:
RECAP:
Jacob Ben Israel interviews Glee Club members and we find out the following highlights:
No one’s signing up for Glee Club despite having “No Try-outs” on the flyer. Sue chides William that no one wants to be part of a club that anybody can join.
In Principal Figgins’ office, we find out that he’s cutting the budget for the Glee Club and the Cheerios. Shannon Beiste is introduced and she calls out Sue and Mr. Schue.
Matt transferred??? What? Why?
Will tells ND that they need to introduce the club to the school, New Directions-style. New Directions performs “Empire State of Mind”. Puck and Artie are the best rappers. Cheerleaders are the best dancers, especially Quinn.
Rachel spots Sunshine Corazon lip-synching to the rap part and Finn sees Sam tapping his foot.
Nobody claps after the great performance. I found that a little funny and we see that the team is a bit frustrated.
Will is upset and tells Sue about the defacing of the sign up sheet. Sue convinces Will that they need to take Beiste down.
While Finn is putting up sign up sheets in the locker room, he hears Sam singing in the showers – much like how he was discovered by Will in the first season.
In the meantime, Rachel is putting up sign up sheets in the ladies’ room. Sunshine Corazon comes in with her iPod on. Rachel invites Corazon to the New Directions auditions, talking to her like she’s deaf and assuming that Sunshine will be just part of the chorus. Sunshine starts to sing the first few lines of “Telephone”. Rachel hears and chimes in. Rachel starts singing beside Sunshine as if she wants to fight. Sue comes in and yells “Shut up”. Sunshine says that was fun and asks when’s the auditions. Rachel says she’ll get back to her on that. The funniest part of this whole scene?
Rachel: Your name is Sunshine Corazon because you’re from the Philippines where it’s always sunny.
Sunshine: Except during monsoons.
Sue and Will play a prank on Beiste by ordering several boxes of pizza and Beiste ends up paying for them. Beiste finds Sue and Will by the doorway and invites them to have some pizza.
Artie tells Finn that Mike and Tina fell in love over Asian Camp. And Mike Chang’s abs are simply fantastic. Artie talks Finn into taking him into football try-outs.
Finn and Artie invites Sam to Glee Club auditions. The boys are all there. Sam sings a clean version of “Billionaire”, Artie raps, Puck’s on the guitar, Finn’s on the drums and Mike Chang’s dancing. Great singing from Sam and Artie is really good with the rapping. I just wish Sam had his own version of “Billionaire”.
Rachel talks to Mercedes and Kurt and tells them that Sunshine has a remarkable voice. Rachel tells them that she paid someone to give them a slushie-facial in front of Sunshine. Mercedes and Kurt tell her that’s a bad idea and wants Sunshine to help them beat Vocal Adrenaline. Rachel “agrees”, finds Sunshine and gives her a map to the auditions.
Sue and Will give Beiste a hard time during lunch hour. Felt sorry for Beiste during that scene and when I saw her cry. And Helen Keller couldn’t drive because she was blind, not because she was a woman. Finn asks Beiste if she’s been crying. Beiste says the team’s stats broke her heart. Finn introduces Beiste to Artie and tells her Artie wants to try-out for the football team. This infuriates Beiste and kicks Finn out of the locker room and out of the team.
Quinn shows up for try-outs for Cheerios. Sue refuses and doesn’t let her try out. Finn tries out for the Cheerios too and does a funny dance. Sue tells Will. Will, Finn and Beiste discuss this with Figgins. Beiste tells off Will while Will was trying to persuade Beiste to take him back.
I like that Glee is telling girls that they shouldn’t want to alter their body at such a young age. Sue tells Santana that plastic surgery is “an insult to nature” and demotes her, telling her that Quinn will replace her as head cheerleader. Quinn’s walk and the expression on her face made me go “She’s back”. Santana and Quinn fight. Great scene, by the way. That bitch slap will be very memorable. No, wait. The whole fight scene will be very memorable.
Brittany accused Beiste of molesting her. Will saves the day and Brittany admits she made it up. This makes Sue angry and confronts Will. Mike and Tina interrupt. Mike, Tina and Will confront Rachel. We find out that Rachel sent her to an inactive crack house. Will tell Rachel to make it right.
Rachel apologizes to Sunshine and invites her to audition.
Sunshine sings “Listen”. It gave me goose bumps all three times. Rachel looks very insecure while the rest of the team cheers on Sunshine. Will welcomes Sunshine to the Glee Club and Rachel fakes a smile.
Will apologizes to Beiste for making her feel like an outsider and tells off Sue.
Finn asks Sam why he didn’t show up at the audition. Sam says he doesn’t want to be an outcast.
Will gives Sunshine a copy of the rehearsal schedule. We find out that Sunshine has been pirated by Vocal Adrenaline and offered her a condo and a green card. Sue made the call to Vocal Adrenaline.
Rachel and Finn talk. Finn tells Rachel that the team is pretty upset and she needs to apologize. Rachel rationalizes her actions by saying that she didn’t want others to contribute less. Finn tells her to stop saying that because she loves herself more and that’s the reason she sent Sunshine to an inactive crack house.
Rachel sings “What I Did for Love”.
Next Glee episode is “Britney/Brittany”.
Can’t wait for the second episode of Glee. And I think I want to see more of Sunshine Corazon now that she’s part of Vocal Adrenaline. Will there be sing-offs? I certainly hope so!
Chuck Bass is back from the dead.
As viewers of this show might already know, CB has already changed his name to Henry Prince when he woke up after being treated of his bullet wound.
Fully intending to lead a new life under a new name, Chuck plans to leave France after seeing Blair and Serena on two separate occasions in France. Chuck, erm, Henry denied knowing Serena in front of Eva. S waits for CB to come out of his apartment and confronts him about going home to the Upper East Side. Chuck, in essence, tells Serena that there’s nothing left for him in NY and when he leaves town, Chuck will be gone forever.
In the meantime, Blair got Prince Charming to give her a second chance. They go on a wonderful date and Prince invites her to a ball to meet his parents. Prince sends her a couple of dresses to try and sends her to Harry Winston’s jewelry shop for some accessories. While there, Blair sees the perfect ring for her and then sees Serena. She confronts Serena about following her and then she discovers the story behind the ring, the one Chuck was supposed to give her. Serena pleads with Blair to talk to Chuck but Blair goes with Prince Charming anyway.
She must’ve changed her mind along the way because Blair and Chuck have this great scene at the train station. This is when and where Blair asks Chuck to come home because “ My life wouldn’t be the same without Chuck Bass in it”. Chuck then says that he destroyed the one thing that he really cared about. Blair takes a deep breath and says:
I don’t love you anymore. And it takes more than Chuck Bass to destroy a Blair Waldorf
Epic!
Then Blair says goodbye to Prince Charming, telling him that she can’t live in a fairy tale and needs to go back to the US to face her problems. She gives him her shoe, in case Prince wants to come find her.
Chuck finally tells Eva who he is and invites her to come along to the US. Surprised Eva asks him if he got her plane tickets to the US. To which, Chuck replies with
We don’t need tickets. I’m Chuck Bass.
And so this makes me wonder as to how it will all play out next week when everyone is back in New York? I’m so excited!
Oh, and btw, Dan chose Vanessa (yay! Dan is a doughnut. Serena needs someone who can tame her a bit and I think Nate would be able to do that sometime in the future) and Nate chose Juliet who, by the way, seems to be out for blood. Target? Serena van der Woodsen.
Can’t wait to find out who Juliet is.
Dear Twitter,
I’m beginning to truly dislike you. You’re always either down or out of resource.
And I need you to help me promote my blog like some people do. But you don’t show my tweets in real-time search. How’s that gonna help me, you Twit!
I haven’t been able to see my tweets in real-time search for two days now. And I’ve followed guidelines for quality-filtering.
Please fix your bugs, which you have a lot, now, if not soon.
Thanks,
Me
PS: I love you, Twitter, only when I use my personal account and do not need to do any promotions.
Because “Glee” is premiering tomorrow Manila time, I thought I’d upload a recent video I discovered on the internet. The video features Harry Shum Jr. and Heather Morris and they teach viewers how to do the “Dougie”. I think they did this video on Ryan Seacrest’s show, subsequently uploaded by Ryan Seacrest.
The second video features Heather Morris as a back up dancer to Beyonce for the song “Single Ladies”.
Glee fans enjoy!
Would love to learn how to do the Single Ladies dance one of these days.
I suck at this tagging game.
I don’t have a lot of friends who blog and I don’t have a lot of online friends. So maybe I’ll tag some people and hopefully, they rise to the challenge.
Tagged by my new online friend, Toni.
1. If you had a chance to go back in time for 24 hours, where would you go and why? I have several timelines in mind. It just depends on what I want to change in my present. :)
2. What material possession can you not live without? My books, my cell phone and my laptop.
3. What's your first thought in the morning and last thought at night? “Thank you God for this day” and whatever I’m watching/reading before I fall asleep.
4. If you were given the liberty and opportunity to pursue a new career, what line of work would you delve into? Probably law.
5. If you were to win the lottery, how long would you wait to tell others? A long time! I would probably plan a great vacation to Greece with my friends and pay for everything. They would of course ask where I got the money to fund the vacay, so that’s the only time I would tell.
6. What aspect of your personality is most peculiar to you? I explain a lot.
One last question:
Is there anything exciting about yourself that you would like to share? It’s not exciting but I see myself as a nerd.
Questions:
This song has been a long time personal favorite of mine.
My favorite line:
You’re a queen, you should be given all that’s someone’s got…You’re worth much more than an occasional “I love you, I’m thinking of you”.
Every girl, I don’t care what she says, wants to be treated like a man’s personal queen. No girl wants to be taken for granted, abused (in all ways possible) and ignored.
I guess you could say that at one point in my life, this song was therapeutic for me. I needed to move on from a failing relationship and this song gave me a jolt of reality, specifically with the lines mentioned above.
So anyway, here’s the video. I hope someone out there likes this song as much as I do.
Btw, Trey Songz is up for grabs on the Celebrity Twitter Auction called Twitchange. Proceeds go to building a school for special children in Haiti. Trey’s current value is a little over $300 USD. So if anyone out there is a big fan, make sure to bid on Trey Songz if you want him to tweet/mention/follow you for no less than 90 days. He might be throwing in something else too.
As some of you may know, I’ve been unemployed for a little over a month now. I’ve left my old company to explore new opportunities and new possibilities.
So, of course I've been looking for jobs. I've been to several interviews. I've received several invitations to final interviews and I've yet to receive feedback from them. To be very honest, I get a little nervous during interviews. For me, interviews are like going to blind dates – somebody sets you up (Recruitment team), you talk, ask questions, get to know each other a bit to see if you’re a good fit. Say one little wrong thing and it’s goodbye. If your date (the hiring manager) thinks you’re interesting enough, you get a second or third or fourth date. If you feel like you like each other a lot, you enter a relationship by means of signing a contract (the job offer) stating that you now have a commitment to each other.
But see, I’ve never been good with dates. I find them a little stressful and nerve-wracking. This is probably why I’m a serial monogamist in terms of my career and my personal relationships. You have to be intelligent, witty and decent looking. Yes, I’m all three (wink, wink) but I guess I just haven’t found my perfect match (hopefully, soon because I don’t think my pride will let me be jobless for more than a few months).
To relieve my stress from all the job-hunting I’ve done so far, I got me some ice cream. Two pints of ice cream, actually. One is Haagen-Dazs Caramel Biscuit and Cream and the other…well, let’s just say I’ve already written about it and it’s posted somewhere in this blog. :)
Anyway, I’m glad I got Haagen-Dazs Caramel Biscuit and Cream because it is simply dee-vine!! Yes, I know how to spell “divine” but I needed you to read “divine” as “dee-vine” because yes, it was that good (kind of like how people say “uh-mazing” on the internet). Delectable, creamy and just the right amount of sweetness. Yes, it is caramel but it’s not overly sweet caramel. It was soooo good that I had a hard time sharing it with my parents. In the end, I let them have a couple spoonfuls just so they would understand what I was raving about.
The taste is just so…comforting. I don’t know if there’s any other way to describe it. I dunno if it’s because it is ice cream (being comfort food in general) but I felt really…comforted, relaxed. And I’m not kidding. Like I really feel better after eating this particular ice cream. Like if this particular ice cream became a live person, this one will be your best friend giving you the best hug ever!
So I hope the following pictures will let you know how much I absolutely enjoyed Haagen-Dazs Caramel Biscuit and Cream. Hover your mouse over the pictures for some (cool) captions. :)
So you guys know what to give me if I feel a little too depressed and don’t want to take me out for some drinks. :)
But whether I get my dream job/dream guy or not, I will be eating Haagen-Dazs Caramel Biscuit and Cream. It’ll just be a matter of whether I’ll be celebrating or not. :)
How time flies fast when “ber” months arrive.
Anyway, here’s the Sunday Webcomics. I wish everyone a happy Sunday, whatever time zone you may be in.
Ok, is it just me or did Bonnie get majorly annoying in this episode?
Anyway, the episode picks up where it left off the last time. Caroline wakes up as a vampire, all weirded out. She’s immediately drawn to blood that she smelled from the next room and stole it. When she first took a sip, she was initially disgusted and threw it away but I guess the hunger was more powerful than disgust, so she ended up finishing the whole blood bag.
Stefan and Elena shared a sweet moment. I love Stefan. Add a little naughtiness to him and he’ll probably be my ideal boyfriend – sweet, romantic, kind, tough, naughty. And to top it off, he’s just a major catch.
Anyway, Jeremy and Damon have another “let-me-kill-you” moment. Damon got Jeremy’s ring but immediately gave it back.
Caroline feeds on a human at the carnival. Oddly enough, with all the people in there, no one ever noticed her rather violent attack.
Oooh. Favorite scene: Caroline has a bloody face having just fed. Damon was about to kill Caroline but Stefan intercepts him. Elena and Stefan try to comfort Caroline. Damon comes rushing in about to stake Caroline but Elena comes in between. Bonnie finds out that Caroline has turned. Stefan helps Caroline clean up and teaches her how to control her cravings. Good acting moment there, Paul. I think I liked Stefan more than Damon in this episode.
Bonnie casts a spell on Damon to make his head ache. Once he’s down on the ground, Bonnie makes a faucet turn on and the water coming from the hose turns to fire and engulfs Damon’s legs. Elena yells for Bonnie to stop but Bonnie doesn’t listen, saying everything is Damon’s fault. Duh. Wasn’t it Bonnie who said that Damon should give Caroline his blood? Major annoying moment there. Elena shakes Bonnie to distract her, ultimately saving Damon.
On the werewolf side of the story, Mason shows amazing abilities and glowing eyes, something that Tyler and Stefan saw. Tyler confronts Mason but Mason doesn’t tell him the truth.
Matt confesses to Caroline that he’s in love with her. Stefan wakes up Elena to take her to the top of the ferris wheel for a kiss. Good romantic moment there. Very thoughtful of Stefan.
And it ends there.
I don’t think I have anything negative to say about this episode. Ian and Kat are doing a great job at playing annoying characters, so kudos to their acting abilities.
I think I liked Candice Accola’s Caroline more than I did last season.
And I wonder if anyone noticed that Mason seems to bark instead of yell?
Here’s the trailer of the next episode “Bad Moon Rising”:
It’s Episode 2 of the new series from the CW Network, Hellcats.
And unfortunately, Alyson Michalka, aka Marti, is still not growing on me. I still find her annoying though I did find myself secretly hoping she’d be able to do the helicopter move successfully.
The storyline is still a little shallow. Family drama just ain’t enough. No real rival school, no brewing struggle, no conflict. It’s as if the writers haven’t actually thought this through and it’s just a series to fill up a certain timeslot.
Or maybe I’m judging this too quickly.
Savannah did say in this episode that the journey to Nationals will make whatever they’ve been through to get to Qualifiers seem like cakewalk. So maybe the real story will be unfolding somewhere there.
I’m liking Savannah a bit more in this episode. She’s a complex character – a Christian cheerleader with family issues isn’t exactly what you’d usually expect from these types of series. And she’s a cheerleader who’s usually sad – very much different from the usual peppy, smiling, cocky and flirty cheerleaders (Brooke Davis from OTH series comes to mind).
I was surprised to see that the show is tackling the all too touchy subject called religion. It’s nice, yet weird, only because I’m not used to it. And I’ve watched a lot of TV series. I think the last show I watched that dabbled in religion was Dawson’s Creek. Remember Michelle’s character’s grandmother?
Here’s a VERY BRIEF summary of the episode:
By the way, the ending of this episode sucks. A bunch of them dancing around, making it seem like a happy ever after, reeks of a TV movie. No something to look forward to the next episode. I mean, come on! You’re supposed to make viewers want to watch more by dangling something exciting for them to want to watch the next episode.
Anyway, I hope the story gets improved soon. I really like Ashley Tisdale and I sincerely hope this works out for her.
I’m waiting for the next episode. And I hope to write a more positive review by then. The Episode 3 preview looks promising.
I saw this movie being promoted on the Ellen DeGeneres show last night. I saw just a tiny bit – basically just Ellen saying the movie title and that it’s not a scary/thriller movie, although it is being promoted as such.
So today, I go onto Youtube and check out the trailer.
And now I wish they would show it here in Manila. I would love to see a movie like this. Or I’ll just check out the DVD once it comes out.
In the meantime, here’s the trailer. I thought parts of it were funny. And hopefully, some readers of this blog will find it interesting.
I’ve been pretty curious about the new KFC California Maki Twister. I’ve had their pizza twister and their Hawaiian twister (which is basically a pizza twister with pineapples). I liked their pizza twister, but the Hawaiian twister, not so much.
Anyway, I finally had the chance to try out the KFC California Maki Twister last Tuesday afternoon. I’d gone to the office to give a parting gift to a good friend who’s leaving for Dubai soon. We had lunch. Or at least I did since I arrived just when he’d finished up with lunch. Got the twister for take out for merienda.
So, on to the actual food review.
If you like raw food like I do, you probably have had a California Maki. You’d be, of course, familiar with the flavors and the taste associated with the California Maki. You with me? Ok, good. So imagine all that without the dried seaweeds.
The California Twister had a good amount of great tasting mayo and chicken. The slices of cucumber and mangoes were there, making the California maki experience complete. Maybe it was in the mayo but I could’ve sworn I tasted something fishy in there. It wasn’t bad at all. It just tasted like how a California maki should taste – sweet and crab-y.
Overall, great experience with the KFC California Twister.
Next on my list of food to try? Sunrise Bucket Chicken Wings.
All Twits probably know this by now.
Eva Longoria is the main spokesperson for this charity auction. I don’t know if it was her bright idea but it certainly is a good idea for both the cause, the celebrity and the fan.
The Cause:
Proceeds of the auction will help build homes for special children in Haiti.
The Fundraiser:
Fans, like me, get to bid on celebrities they follow on Twitter and get a chance to win any one or all of the following (depending on the celebrity, I guess):
In my humble opinion/suggestion, if the amount of dollars bid on a certain celebrity is $100 USD or more, that celebrity should do all three. Die-hard fans would do just about anything to get closer to their favorite celebrities. $100 USD is definitely not something easy to shell out for a lot of people, especially if they’re outside the US where the US currency is relatively stronger than their own currency. And for some people, $100 USD is just too much for a retweet, a mention, or a follow.
Anyway, that’s just a thought.
Good thing some celebrities like Jay Manuel, Channing Tatum and Michelle Branch are adding more value by offering to do more than the three things mentioned above. I think Jay Manuel offered to personally call up the winner and give fashion advice on top of the Twitter thing. Channing Tatum is giving away an autographed GI Joe Action figure and Michelle Branch is doing something that involves a song.
I wish other celebrities would do the same, especially the ones who will be fetching thousands of dollars (hi Justin Bieber, Ian Somerhalder, Demi Lovato and Kim Kardashian to name a few).
I’m not sure if the celebrities I like will be up for auction. Unfortunately, I’m not a die-hard fan of anyone. That’s probably why I don’t recognize some of the names. And that’s probably why I’ll bid for up to USD 500 only. If I bid more than that, I’ll be the one needing charity.
I might be bidding for Harry Shum Jr. and Ian Somerhalder if they’re on board.
You can check out Twitchange.com and see for yourselves which celebrities are on board the celebrity auction thing.
Auction starts in exactly 13 minutes.
Ladies and gentlemen…get ready to tweet and bid!
OMG.
I loved this episode of Gossip Girl.
Funny. Fabulous. Intriguing. These are the three words I would use to describe this episode of Gossip Girl.
The episode opens with a brief recall of what happened in last season’s finale. Here are the major highlights:
I love Serena and Blair friendship moments. My favorite scene from the episode is when Blair explained why she was so upset about Serena attending Columbia. I like it whenever Blair shows her vulnerable side, when she shows her insecurity towards the original Queen Bee of the UES, Serena.
I love this episode. I’m looking forward to the next one already.
Here’s a clip/teaser trailer for the next episode, entitled “Double Identity”:
I saw something that curbed my appetite.
Men might find this attractive. Vegans might find it revolting. As for me, not a vegan, find this a little icky. Disturbing even. Not sexy at all.
I have to admit that the meat seem to be prime and lean cuts. Would probably be great for my mom’s beefsteak.
Does anyone like this picture? I can’t believe Vogue is running this picture. I don’t think the meat dress will ever be fashionable.
And I found Lady Gaga’s other meat dress, the one that she actually wore at the MTV Video Music Awards.
I bet she was smelly. I bet Cher wasn’t too excited about giving Lady Gaga a hug. Haha!
First heard this song during Elena and Damon’s dance scene in the “Miss Mystic Falls” episode of The Vampire Diaries.
I thought the song was very good.
See, one thing I like about watching TV series is that I get to discover music I otherwise wouldn’t discover on my own.
So I hope someone out there like this song as well.
I'm dying to catch my breath
Oh why don't I ever learn
I've lost all my trust though I've surely tried to
Turn it around
Can you still see the heart of me?
All my agony fades away
When you hold me in your embrace
Don't tear me down
For all I need
Make my heart a better place
Give me something I can believe
Don't tear me down
You've opened the door now
Don't let it close
I'm here on the edge again
I wish I could let it go
I know that I'm only one step away
From turning around
Can you still see the heart of me?
All my agony fades away
When you hold me in your embrace
Don't tear me down
For all I need
Make my heart a better place
Give me something I can believe
Don't tear it down
What's left of me
Make my heart a better place
I've tried many times but nothing was real
Make it fade away
Don't tear me down
I want to believe that this is for real
Save me from my fear
Don't tear me down
Don't tear me down
For all I need
Make my heart a better place
Don't tear me down
For all I need
Make my heart a better place
Give me something I can believe
Don't tear it down
What's left of me
Make my heart a better place
Make my heart a better place
Tell me what you think.
I love Music Mondays because I like sharing whatever music I found or music I like with anyone who happens to be wandering around the net and ended up on this blog.
For today’s Music Monday, I present to you Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now. The song is about a girl who’s sad about the loss of her lover. The lyrics are haunting and it’s definitely something the heartbroken has felt before.
For some reason, this song has been in my head since last night and when I woke up this morning. That’s why I decided to feature it for today’s Music Monday.
So here’s the video and lyrics. Enjoy!
Picture perfect memories scattered all around the floor
Reachin' for the phone 'cause I can't fight it anymore
And I wonder if I ever cross your mind
For me it happens all the time
It's a quarter after one, I'm all alone and I need you now
Said I wouldn't call but I lost all control and I need you now
And I don't know how I can do without
I just need you now
Another shot of whiskey can't stop looking at the door
Wishing you'd come sweeping in the way you did before
And I wonder if I ever cross your mind
For me it happens all the time
It's a quarter after one, I'm a little drunk and I need you now
Said I wouldn't call but I lost all control and I need you now
And I don't know how I can do without
I just need you now
Guess I'd rather hurt than feel nothin' at all
It's a quarter after one I'm all alone and I need you now
And I said I wouldn't call but I'm a little drunk and I need you now
And I don't know how I can do without
I just need you now
I just need you now (wait)
Ooo, baby, I need you now
Congratulations to the whole UP Community especially to the UP Pep Squad for a job well done.
Here’s a video of their performance. Thank you to PinayScandal2009 for uploading it to Youtube.
Forgive my ignorance but I’ve already read on Twitter that someone’s claiming that the contest was rigged because UP didn’t use chairs. Were they supposed to use chairs? Was it part of a rule? I’m sorry I don’t know. So if anyone knows, please let me know too.
Thanks!
I didn’t like it. But I didn’t hate it.
The story line so far sucks – very formulaic. I predict that it’ll last only one season. Two at most. The writers need to come up with something great in order to keep the viewers. It’s like Bring It On meets High School Musical for TV.
Too bad, I really love Ashley Tisdale. This is such a far cry from her renowned “Sharpay” roles. She’s nice in Hellcats. And she isn’t the girl we all love to hate in this series, which is like a breath of fresh air. I was looking at her and the song “Fabulous” was coming to mind. Good thing she dyed her hair brown. If not, I would’ve half expected her to belt out a song.
As for Alyson Michalka…well, I know I’m not that pretty but she doesn’t seem to be like lead material…like she’s not pretty enough to be lead. Great dance moves, though.
Oh wait. I think that’s it. Alyson looks too bitchy to play a girl down on her luck while Ashley looks too nice for her supposedly anti-hero role. I think they need to switch places.
I don’t know. There’s just something about Alyson that I don’t like. I don’t like how she looks. Maybe it’s her make up or her short hair. I googled her and found some pictures wherein she looks way better than she does in the series.
Two male alums from One Tree Hill are also in this series: Matt Barr (Peyton’s stalker, Derek) and Robbie Jones (Quentin Fields). No real chemistry between Matt and Alyson and Robbie and Alyson. I’d like to see Ashley with Matt in the future.
I hope as the series goes further into the season, the story gets better as well. And maybe Alyson will grow on me. Or maybe not.
So it’s another Sunday.
I’m really a bit worried because I’m losing interest in maintaining this blog. It’s as if I’ve run out of things to say. So if you have suggestions on what I should cover on this blog, please let me know.
Anyway, here’s my Sunday WebComics:
