The Green Hornet

11/260

220px-The_Green_Hornet_Poster

Watched The Green Hornet in 3D in Glorietta 4 today.

Comments:

1. The movie didn’t take full advantage of 3D effects.

2. Kato is cool.

3. Black Beauty is super cool.

4. The story was…um, okay.

5. The movie wasn’t funny enough. It could’ve used more humor.

6. Yes, it is Analeigh from America’s Next Top Model who was Britt’s date during the first 20 minutes of the movie.

Question:

Why were the credits shown twice? I thought that was a little weird. Like the actors credits were shown first then it was shown again. I was thinking they’d cut to the gaffer, grip, production crew type of thing credits. You know what I mean?

If you want to watch it, don’t watch it in 3D. That way, it won’t feel like it was a waste of money.

For once, I don’t want to feel lonely or disappointed about being single.

On the other hand, I’d rather be single than be stuck in a bad and unhealthy relationship, like I was in for almost two years.

The Week So Far

Okay, I know it’s just Tuesday but I feel like giving a summary.

To lengthen the post, let me start with Saturday, January 22nd.

January 22:

A wonderful, wonderful concert.

The Company

Everyone was great. I especially enjoyed the performance from Basil Valdez. It’s so rare to be in the presence of Pinoy musical great.

January 23:

Just stayed at home, skipped church. Lazed around the house. Finally helped my mom organize our top closets. And then watched a total of three movies on cable tv and I’m thinking if I should include all of it in my Project 260. I’m contemplating just including “Everybody’s Fine” since it’s the one I haven’t seen before.

January 24

Had a wonderful day at the office. Started the day with this music:

Officemates and I were laughing about this one guy. Didn’t feel like I was working yesterday.

Ended the night with B. He came over late last night and I had to literally sneak out of the house just to see him. Like I had to make sure my parents were asleep. I carefully unhinged the door and the gate. B had wanted to drive to a nearby Starbucks. I declined so we stayed by my house. It was nice having a few laughs with him. By 12:30 MN, I had to send him home. Fortunately, my parents were still asleep.

First song on the iPod was Usher’s DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love

Then it was followed by weird songs, which seemed to have a story.

So I started with this song, right? Next couple of songs were mushy ones. By the time I was along Dela Costa, I was hearing Britney’s “Stronger” and then Fergie’s “Glamorous” by the time I was up the elevator. I laughed and asked God if there was a message in between. I would have loved to hear the response.

So right now, I’m ending the day blogging.

Let’s see…my TV’s showing this

And I have the urge to sing this song from Leighton Meester:

And still dreaming to go here:

An Open Letter to Apple Philippines

Dear Apple Philippines,

I’ve been using iTunes and an iPod since the iPod Nano first came out. I must admit that given the memory capacity of the earlier iPod nano model and the humble beginnings of iTunes, I really didn’t care much for it.

But since then, you and I have gone a long way. I’ve upgraded my iPod Nano twice (to the cute Pink 2nd generation iPod Nano that I’ve stuck for so long while waiting for a worthy upgrade) and now have a 32 GB 4th Generation iPod Touch while you have a handful of iPod generations, iTunes 10 and now available in more places outside the USA.

So, I was thinking, how about an upgrade for your customers in the Philippines? How about offering music, TV and movie downloads to us as well? Most of us have credit cards too, you know, and are very much willing to spend on good music, TV and/or movie downloads, Filipino or otherwise. Heck, we spend on apps now. I think we’d spend on music and movies too.

This will be a win-win situation for everyone: Filipino music artists get to promote their music on iTunes, people like me get to complete an album (hopefully) with album art (without leaving our home to buy the CDs—because honestly, I don’t know what to do with the CD after I’ve copied the songs onto iTunes), and you get to serve your customers AND earn.

And with a little more luck, you might let us download or rent Filipino TV and movies.

Come on, why don’t you try us out for a year or two? If it proves to be not good business, then continue providing just apps to us. But if it’s proven to be profitable, even for just a little, please continue to provide us the service.

Hopefully, I’ll get to see a resolution soon.

Thanks for reading.

Much Respect,

Noisy Me

Feng Shui and A Love Story

I thought Feng Shui was a bit funny.

I cried during A Love Story. I could relate. ;)

Take Care, Skin!

So today, after a loooooooong time, I finally went back to Dr. Stephen Lacson (Makati Med, Room 382, I think). Wanted his advice on what to do with the acne that appeared on my cheeks soon after I started working again.

Cute doctor. And I think it’s what keeps me coming back. Haha! :) Doesn’t hurt that he’s nice too.

Anyway, so these are what I need to make my skin clear.

The Glytone Facial Cleanser is really good and really worth your money for Php 1700. You’re supposed to use a pea-sized amount and it goes a really long way. It’s bubbly too, just the way I like my soap. :) My first bottle lasted me 7 months.

The two white bottles there are the Clindamycin with Tretinoin (Clinda-Tret) and Erythromycin. I now forget which one does what but I’m supposed to use the Erythromycin in the morning and the Clinda-tret at night.

The hydroquinone cream is for lightening dark spots. I asked for one to lighten up some scars that I have along my legs.

I think Dr. Stephen Lacson is good. Maybe you should see him if you’re having problems with your skin.

Music Wednesday

So I just decided that today is Music Wednesday because I meant to post something for Music Monday but unfortunately neglected to do so.

Lonely No More - Rob Thomas

Loved this song then and especially now.

Six Days, Seven Nights

First saw this movie back when it first came out. Around 1998 maybe. I remember seeing this movie with my cousin.

I don’t remember if I liked it then. But I think the movie’s OK now. What I do remember is that this is the first movie I saw Harrison Ford do a romantic comedy.

Easy A

I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would.

220px-Easy_a_australian

It was my fault. I probably had too high of an expectation for this movie.

When In Rome

I remember wanting to see this with my then-boyfriend when it first came out. But of course, we didn’t and we shall not go into details.

220px-When_in_rome_poster

Anyway, thanks to cable TV, I was finally able to see this movie.

Josh Duhamel looks great and Kristen Bell is just so pretty but they didn’t really have that on-screen chemistry.

The story was a little silly, in my honest opinion, but it suffices for a romantic comedy. The movie reminded me of my dream to go to Italy and Greece, mainly to fall in love with the art, history, place and of course that “one guy who will sweep me off my feet”.

My friend R and I had a heart-to-heart talk yesterday early morning over a bottle of tequila. She was telling me all about the advantages of being single. And because I was a little too sleepy and a little too drunk, I didn’t have the will and the heart to argue to say that I don’t want to be single anymore and that I knew the advantages all too well. I wanted to be a part of a couple. This in spite of having come from a really bad relationship recently…like sometime in 2010. I don’t even care to remember.

Anyway, this movie made me wonder…What it would be like to date a guy from a different race? Of course, he should be human, but you knew that and you knew what I was really sayin’, right?

I would recommend “The Proposal” over this movie. But, like I said, the movie is okay. It suffices for a romantic comedy.

Death Becomes Her

2 of 260

220px-Death_Becomes_Her

Saw this again after more than 2 years. I remember watching this the first time and I thought it was funny. Now, I think it’s only slightly funny.

Project 260

This project/meme/whatever you would like to call it is a fruit from the brain of Charls.

Here are the rules.

The only reason I am joining this project is because I want to know exactly how many movies I see in a year, including those movies I’ve seen before. But as you can see, rules indicate that I only count those movies I haven’t seen within the year.

The Tourist

1 of 260

The Tourist is the first movie I’ve seen this 2011.

I liked it. I thought it was funny but predictable. Thought I wouldn’t like it based on the review I read in a movie review.

220px-The_Tourist_Poster

Liked it. See it.

Dear 2011

Dear 2011,

This year, I wish to have what was given to me in 2010 but way better. To be specific, this will mean:

  • Improved family relationships (2010 family relationships were good but things could always get better, right?)
  • Better health for myself and my parents.
  • More bonding time with college friends.
  • More time to do the things I like
  • Better work experiences (I now have a job that I really like but again, things could improve more).
  • More money because I need to buy something big this year. :)
  • Better health for my dogs.

But I don’t want to be single the whole of 2011. Can I please finally meet my “the one”? TIA.

Sincerely,
