The New Nokia C3: Social Networking Master

My cousin and I were walking by the Nokia Center along Glorietta 3 when we caught a glimpse of these babies:

Yes, it is the new Nokia C3. Looks-wise, it seems that it might rival the Blackberry and the current Nokia E-series.

I was naturally interested because of the low price tag compared to the E-series. I wondered what could be the difference? The answer is simple. The Nokia E71 and E72 are for the professional people while the Nokia C3’s target seem to be the tweens who are interested in getting a more professional looking phone.

The C3 is being tagged by GSM Arena as “C3: SNS Love”, with “SNS” meaning to be, yes, you guessed it: Social Networking Service.

Based on other reviews I’ve read, this one lacks the multi-tasking capabilities and other “smart” stuff that other smart phones have. This one does not have 3G and no office document viewer. Tweens might be disappointed to find out that other review sites have graded the camera of this phone to be lacking (how the hell can you post great pictures to Facebook and Twitter if you don’t have a great camera phone?). The good thing here, the phone being a social networking master, is it is able to keep the user online in Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Y!M all at the same time and not just one at a time.

This phone seems to be a good buy for people who want a professional looking phone for an affordable price. The phone would be a good choice especially for a lot of people (probably including moi) who wouldn’t know how to use a Blackberry or any other smart phone to its full capabilities (but yes, I’m still saving for a Blackberry Bold 9700).
