PNoy Declares August 25 A National Day of Mourning and Jackie Chan Expresses Kind Words

President Noynoy Aquino declares that today, August 25, is a National Day of Mourning for the victims of the Quirino Grandstand Hostage Taking Crisis.

“Victims” include Senior Inspector Rolando Mendoza.

As of writing, there are five survivors (somebody correct me here) out of the 25 hostages. Eight dead. The others, elderly and children, were freed.

And it was so kind of Jackie Chan to be so kind about the whole thing. I think I’m becoming a fan just because of it.

Here are some excerpts from Jackie Chan’s Twitter Account:

And by the way, here’s a good read about the whole Quirino Grandstand Tragedy. It’s entitled “Romantic Notions”.
